Details
Blue-winged geese (Cyanochen cyanopterus) are blue-winged Goose birds in the genus Cyanopterus.
The range of blue-winged geese is generally high elevation grassland scrub or grassland, at an altitude of about 1800 meters. Nomadic foraging near water, feeding mainly on grasses, seeds, various aquatic plants, mollusks, and fish.
Blue-winged geese breed near the edges of lakes, rivers, ponds and swamps. Because the Ethiopian highlands are relatively cold, the nest is built in dense undergrowth, and the nesting material is made of thick straw. After laying eggs, the female plucks a large number of feathers from her body and places them in the nest. Each clutch lays 4-9 pink gray eggs, which hatch for 30 to 34 days.
