Petrel is a critically endangered species. Two bird sightings were recorded in the 1970s, but few sightings have been reported since then. Their main threats come from invasive alien species and environmental pollution.

Protect wild animals and eliminate wild meat.

Maintaining ecological balance is everyone's responsibility!

The sooty Shearwater is found in the Indian Ocean (including Madagascar and its nearby islands).
The petrel is a gull with a length of 35-36 cm and a weight of 174-270 g, with a wingspan of 88 cm. The upper mouth structure is special, composed of a tubular nose, the mouth end is hooked, and the nostrils are formed into two tubes on the upper side of the mouth. On September 4, 2014, a female petrel was photographed with an egg protruding from her underbelly.
