Can dinosaurs fly?

Some of the dinosaurs could fly, and these dinosaurs are called pterosaurs. However, it should be noted that pterosaurs are not true dinosaurs, they belong to another group.

With the exception of pterosaurs, dinosaurs themselves could not fly. The front limbs of dinosaurs evolved into various forms of arms for grabbing and attacking prey, and the hind limbs were used for running and escaping. In contrast, birds did not appear until after the extinction of dinosaurs, and they were able to fly by evolving light but strong feathers and aerodynamic structures.

Although dinosaurs could not fly, some dinosaurs could still glide. For example, some small dinosaurs such as Archaeopteryx, a close relative of Velociraptor, may have been able to glide for a short time, but they did not fly freely in the air like birds.
