Chloroplasts are organelles that enable photosynthesis and the synthesis of nutrients in plants. In addition to plants, some other organisms such as algae, some protists, and some marine organisms also have chloroplasts.
However, mammals and most other animals generally do not have chloroplasts because they cannot photosynthesize. Instead, they obtain energy and nutrients from different food sources and convert them into usable forms through different metabolic pathways. Therefore, cells of mammals and other animals generally do not have chloroplasts.
