Finless porpoise is a freshwater cetacean, also known as Baiji dolphin or Chinese sturgeon. They belong to the family Pinnipedidae and are an endangered species, mainly found in freshwater rivers in the Yangtze and Pearl River basins of China.

The finless porpoise has a gray-brown body, a round head, a pointed and small mouth, a small and wide dorsal fin, and a wide tail. Adult finless porpoises have obvious longitudinal wrinkles, which are related to their habits of living in freshwater environments and help them swim and turn better in the water.

Finless porpoises are carnivorous animals that feed on fish, crustaceans and molluscs. They tend to live alone or in small groups and are very sensitive and wary, so it is difficult to observe their behavior in the wild.

Due to water pollution, ecological environment damage, and overfishing, the number of finless porpoises has declined sharply in recent years. It is now listed as a national first-level protected animal and requires special protection and management.
