When a puppy chokes, immediate action is needed to keep him or her safe. Here are some emergency measures:

1. Check the dog’s mouth immediately: Carefully open the puppy’s mouth and check if there is any foreign object stuck in the mouth or throat. If you experience a serious condition, contact your veterinarian immediately.

2. Pat the back gently: If you find that your puppy is choking, you can gently pat the puppy on the back to help it vomit up the foreign object. Please be careful not to use too much force to avoid further harming the puppy.

3. Sideways method: If the above method does not work, please use the sideways method. Lay the puppy on its side in your lap and support its chest with your hand. Then use your other hand to pinch the puppy's muzzle and pull outwards to make it vomit the foreign object.

4. First aid: If the puppy loses consciousness or has difficulty breathing, please provide first aid immediately, including artificial respiration and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and send it to a pet hospital as soon as possible.

In summary, when a puppy chokes, action needs to be taken quickly to ensure his safety and health. If you're not sure what to do, or your dog's condition is very serious, contact your veterinarian or pet hospital immediately for professional help and guidance.
