How to tell how old a cat is

To determine the age of your cat, you can look at the following aspects:

1. Teeth:

   - Cats are born with only deciduous teeth, which will gradually change as they grow. They can change their teeth twice in just a few months. When all the teeth are fully grown, the cat is already 6-7 months old.

2. Hair:

   - The color and condition of the hair can also be used to roughly judge the age of the cat. The color and condition of the coat of an adult cat will be fuller and brighter than that of a kitten.

3. Eyes:

   - The eyes of young cats will be temporarily closed, and they will not gradually open until 2-3 weeks after birth. The degree of opening is different at each stage.

4. Gender:

   - You can roughly determine a cat’s age by looking at its gender. Generally speaking, a kitten's reproductive organs begin to take shape around 6 months of age, and obvious gender differences can often be seen at this time. However, this method is not suitable for older cats with more severe neurodegeneration.

To sum up, by observing the cat’s teeth, hair, eyes, gender and other characteristics, we can roughly estimate its age. Of course, these methods can only provide rough estimates. If you want more accurate results, it is best to ask a veterinarian to make a judgment.
