Lycodon rufozonatum is a common Asian snake, mainly distributed in China, Japan, North Korea, Vietnam and other regions. This snake is commonly known as the banded colubrid, so named because of its distinctive silvery-white rings on its body.

The bungara snake is a non-venomous snake and does not pose any danger to humans. Their main food consists of small reptiles, insects and molluscs. Bungaras are usually active at night and hide in trees, rocks or leaf piles during the day.

The appearance characteristics of the Bungarus include a slender body, a triangular head, large eyes, black or dark brown rings on the back of the body, and a lighter abdomen. The length of an adult bungara snake is generally between 30 cm and 60 cm.

Although bungaras are non-venomous snakes, care should be taken when handling them to avoid unnecessary harm. Normally, bungar snakes will flee rather than attack unless threatened or accidentally injured.
