Feature
Very similar to the White-rumped Swift, but with a darker throat and no white spots on the waist.
Details
Dark-backed swift, Latin name Apus acuticauda, is distributed in the Indian subcontinent and southwest China (including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and southeastern Tibet, China, etc.), Indochina Peninsula and southeastern coastal areas of China (including Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and southeastern coastal areas of China, Hong Kong, China, Hainan Island.)
Location
There is only one record of this species in China, in Gaoligong Mountain, Yunnan. It is also found in Bhutan, India, Myanmar, and Thailand. It is found between rock walls and in woodlands, up to 2,300 meters high.
Form
Very similar to the White-rumped Swift, but with a darker throat and no white spots on the waist. The tail feathers are more deeply split. The iris is dark brown, the bill is black, and the feet are purple.
