Details
The Colorful Puffleg hummingbird (Eriocnemis mirabilis, Colorful Puffleg) is a species of hummingbird endemic to Colombia. Specific habits are unknown.
The painted hair-legged hummingbird is found in a small area of southwestern Colombia. The global number is unknown because the total area of suitable habitat for the species is less than 10 square kilometres, and its habitat has been reduced by deforestation of mountaintop coppice for agriculture and illegal coca plantations. Illegal coca cultivation is the biggest threat, with an average of 8.3% of suitable habitat being lost each year.
The painted hair-legged hummingbird is one of the world's endangered species and is one of the United Nations Endangered Wildlife List.

Location
The painted hair-legged hummingbird is found in a small range on the Pacific slope near the Andes Mountains in western Cauca province in southwestern Colombia. When Mazariegos and Salaman visited the western Andes in 1999, they found other regional habitats suitable for the painted leg.
Painted hair-legged hummingbirds live in humid forests and forest boundaries in subtropical areas at altitudes of 2200-2440 m. It can feed on the ground above 2-4 m in the highlands.
Form
Eriocnemis mirabilis is a 9-10 cm long hummingbird with blackish wings and pink feet, and is one of 335 species of hummingbird.
