Baikal Yaro is a small pelagic fish. The common individuals in the Burqin area of the Irtysh River are 12.2-16.4 cm long and weigh 31-59 grams. The common body length in the Brento Sea is 18.0-22.5 cm. , weight 100-170 grams. They mainly inhabit rivers and enter lakes during the fattening period. They like to live in waters with clear water quality and like to move in groups. Especially in spring and summer, when the water temperature drops and gradually rises, they often move in shallow water to look for food. In winter, when the water temperature drops, they live in deep water to overwinter. It has a mixed diet, feeding on diatoms, filamentous algae, aquatic plants and benthic invertebrates, and almost stops feeding during reproductive migration. During the reproductive period, the abdomen of the female fish is enlarged and soft, the body is smooth, and the genital pore is prominent; the male fish has small beads on its head and some scales. Generally, they reach sexual maturity at the age of 3 and have the habit of laying eggs upstream. The Baikal Yaro is distributed in the Ob River to Kolyma River systems in Russia. Produced in China in the Irtysh River system in Xinjiang.
