Osteochilus salsburyi belongs to the order Cypriniformes, family Cyprinidae, subfamily Osteochilus, and genus Osteochilus salsburyi. Commonly known as: earth dog crucian carp, earth belly fish, false dace, meat dace, stone dace.


The sides of the body are flat, the abdomen is round, the head is short, the snout is protruding, the mouth is small, lower, and horseshoe-shaped. The striped lip fish is distributed in the Pearl River, Minjiang River, Jiulong River, Yuanjiang and other water systems as well as Hainan Island. It is a small economic fish in streams in southern my country. Common individuals are 8-16 cm long.
