Both guppies and swordtails are small fish, with body lengths below 100 mm. There are many varieties and colorful colors, including red, green, black, white, blue, etc., which are even more gorgeous and dazzling due to the mutation of artificial breeding, hybridization and other technologies.
Guppies and swordtails have mild and lively temperaments, strong constitutions, and are easy to raise. They are suitable for weak alkaline (PH is 6.8-7.4) and have a hardness of 6-10. Do not change the water too often and are very sensitive to changes in water quality. The most suitable water temperature for breeding is 23-26℃, and it likes to jump.
Reproduction is easy and ovoviviparous. When males and females are kept together in an aquarium, they can mate and give birth naturally. The age of sexual maturity is 3-6 months. Females breed every 20-40 days, giving birth to 40-70 offspring each time. Large individuals can reach about 150. The parent fish have the habit of swallowing the larvae, so the parent fish and larvae should be raised separately immediately after each birth.
