The natural conditions in the distribution area are poor, so it has strong adaptability and strong physique. Generally, the water temperature is around 26°C, and the water quality can be neutral or slightly acidic. When raised in captivity, the optimal water temperature is 23-28°C. It has a gentle temperament and is easy to raise. During breeding, some aquatic plants should be placed in the aquarium to help them build bubble nests and lay eggs. Because it has the habit of big fish eating small fish and weak fish, large and small fish cannot be kept in the same aquarium.
