Betta fish are small freshwater fish, generally nearly 60-70 mm in length. It is famous for its colorful body and ferocious aggressiveness.
Males of many fish species become very aggressive during the reproductive period in order to obtain a satisfactory mate and protect the fish nest. Among fighting fish, betta fish are the most famous. In order to fight the enemy, they often disregard their own lives and often make desperate measures. When the betta fish is in a resting state, its color is relatively dark. When it gets angry to win the favor of its mate or fight, its whole body and fins immediately emit a dazzling metallic light, and bites its enemy with its mouth. When you put two male bettas in the same aquarium, or place one male betta in front of a mirror so that it can see its own shadow. When it spots the opponent, it immediately raises all its fins and emits a dazzling light, adjusts its mood, and quickly enters a fighting state. A male betta fish placed in front of a mirror will repeatedly hit his own shadow.
Betta fish are mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical areas. There are two types of betta fish distributed in my country, one is the widespread round-tail betta, and the other is the fork-tail betta distributed in the south. Round-tailed bettas are less capable of fighting, while fork-tailed bettas are very aggressive. The fork-tailed betta is slightly inferior to the Thai boyu. The Thai Bo fish is the most beautiful and aggressive of the fighting fish. In the past, there used to be casinos in Thailand that specialized in fish fighting, and the gambling money was quite considerable. In recent years, Bo fish have been raised as ornamental fish.
