The body of the oblique butterflyfish is flattened laterally and oval in shape. The body is covered with larger scales and the lateral line is incomplete. The head has a black horizontal band. The dark oblique stripes on the front and back of the body are inconsistent, with the front sloping upward and the back slanting downward. In addition, the black longitudinal band at the base of the dorsal fin is connected to the caudal peduncle band. The tail fin also has 2 black horizontal bands.


Beautiful small fish in coral reefs. Body length 80 to 120 mm, rare.


Distributed in the warm water areas of the tropical Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean. Our country is found in the South China Sea.
