The sea otter, also called the sea tiger, is a small marine mammal that lives in the North Pacific and feeds on shells, crabs and sea urchins.

Sea otter fur can become an important commodity because sea otters are valuable fur animals. Their fur is dark brown, shiny, dense, soft, fluffy and beautiful. It is a valuable material for making fur hats, fur collars, fur coats and other cold-resistant clothing.

The density of its dense hair on the back of the body averages 125,000 hairs per square centimeter! As we all know, fur seals also have thick sweaters and are known as the "King of Fur Beasts". However, the density of fur seals is only 1/1 of that of sea otters. 2. Therefore, the fur of sea otter is the "king of kings".

When people mention precious furs, they will naturally think of sea otter skins. Russia explored the Bering Sea twice from 1728 to 1733 to explore the North American continent. This led to the arrival of hunters and fur traders to some of the desolate islands. At that time, any Russian who went on an expedition to the Far East would be doubted if he could not get a few beautiful and lustrous sea otter skins.

In the early 18th century, sea otters were abundant in the waters around the North Pacific islands. According to records: a Russian and American company once had 4 million furs in stock, including 140,000 sea otter skins and 2.5 million fur seal skins. Think about it, in order to obtain profits, people have unscrupulously slaughtered these precious fur animals, causing their numbers to plummet and become endangered. Later, due to the government's ban on hunting, they were saved from misfortune and survive to this day.
