Details
Solenodon marcanoi is a species of furrow toothed shrew. Nocturnal, living in caves. Sensitive sense of touch, use the sense of touch to feed, after finding prey quickly bite and inject venom, with this method can catch larger prey, but also eat plant food. They have long snout like shrews, which they use to eat insects.
Before humans arrived on the island, the shrew was the largest predatory mammal on the island, with only a few birds of prey and reptiles as predators. When humans arrived, dogs, mice and meerkats followed, and these animals became predators or competitors of the shrew, which itself was inefficient at breeding, leading to near-extinction.
Protect wild animals and eliminate wild meat.
