Why are bees called "genius architects"?

2023-02-22 21:00:20 117

Many insects build "houses" for themselves, and bees are the best "architects" among them. The bee's hive is composed of countless regular hexagonal cells of the same size. Each cell is closely connected to form a huge hive. The cells contain eggs, larvae, and their stored food - pollen and nectar.

According to scientists, building a hexagonal honeycomb can not only save materials most effectively, but also make rational use of space, increase the volume of space, and make the honeycomb more stable. Therefore, bees are well-deserved to be called the "genius architects" of the insect world.
