Dinosaurs are a very broad concept that includes many different species. According to the currently known fossil records, scientists have discovered more than 700 different dinosaur species.
These dinosaur species can be classified based on their morphology, skeletal characteristics, and ecological habits. Among them, theropod dinosaurs and ornithischian dinosaurs are the two most important dinosaur branches, which include many different species.
For example, one of the most famous species of theropod dinosaurs is Tyrannosaurus, which is one of the largest and most powerful carnivorous dinosaurs; while Velociraptor is one of the fastest and most adaptable theropod dinosaurs. Among the ornithischian dinosaurs, giant herbivorous dinosaurs such as Brontosaurus and Diplodocus are also very famous.
Of course, since the fossil record is incomplete, there are still many unknown dinosaur species waiting to be discovered. Therefore, the number of dinosaur species may increase over time.
