The Northern Long-tailed Tit is a bird endemic to China and is distributed in North China, Northwest China and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. According to the "Wildlife Protection Law of the People's Republic of China", the northern long-tailed tit is a national second-level key protected wild animal and is legally protected by the Chinese government. In addition, internationally, the northern long-tailed tit is also listed as a "nearly threatened" species in the "International Union for Conservation of Nature Red List of Threatened Species".
