Why do kittens need to be caged when they first arrive home?

When a kitten arrives at a new home, it takes some time to adapt to the new environment and establish a sense of security. There are several reasons for temporarily kenneling a kitten:

1. Safety protection: Kittens are unfamiliar with the new environment and may feel nervous or fearful. By placing them in a confined area, such as a cage or small room, you can provide a sense of security and reduce the risk of escape or injury.

2. Adapt to the environment: Kittens need to gradually adapt to their new home and living space. Keeping them in a smaller area at first can help them become familiar with the smells, sounds, and layout of their surroundings. This helps reduce stress and makes it easier for them to adapt to their new environment.

3. Socialization: Temporarily isolating kittens in a limited area can provide more opportunities for you to interact with them. This helps build a trusting relationship, foster bonding, and gradually introduce them to the entire family.

Please note that crate care is a transitional phase and does not mean that the kitten needs to stay in the cage forever. Gradually, you can gradually expand their free space and let them explore the entire home environment. Ensure a clean, safe environment with adequate water, food and a comfortable place to rest.

It is important to give your kittens enough attention and caress to establish a close bond with them. Different cats have different individual differences. Some may adapt to a new environment quickly, while others may take longer. Patience and gentleness are the keys to building a good relationship with your kitten in your new home.
