In feudal society, Qinyu tea and bamboo shoots, the precious local products of Jingxian County, Anhui Province, were famous as tributes during the Qingming Festival. Qinyu is found in the mountain stream less than 5,000 meters above and below Qinxi Bridge in Jingxian County. According to the county annals, "the fish is not full of fish, and the dragon's beard feeds the belly. It comes out on March 3rd, and there is nothing left...it is delicious and can be used with tea. It is also a specialty." Every year around the Qingming Festival, people use bamboo baskets to catch fish on the beach of Qinxi River, boil salt water (along with fennel, tea leaves, sugar and other condiments) to cook them, and then dry them over charcoal fire to make dried fish, which still maintains its lifelike shape and width. The mouth is slightly open, the small eyes are wide open, and the fins are suddenly bent. Making tea with harp fish is like fresh fish swimming around in the cup, with a refreshing and mellow taste.
There are many beautiful and magical legends about the origin of the harp fish. It is widely spread that during the Jin Dynasty, a hermit named "Qin Gao" came to the Lion Stone Cave with craggy rocks to make elixirs. The elixir residue was thrown into the stream and turned into a "tiger head and snake tail" harp fish. , from then on, every midnight, the sound of the piano could be heard in the gurgling water. Later, people named this stream Qinxi, and the small fish in the stream were named Qinyu.
In fact, the harp fish is the same as the Lushan stone fish, Yangxinchun fish, and Jingxian wheat fish. They are all 2-3 month old juveniles of the comb goby fish, but they are called differently in different places.
