Shi's toad is an amphibian of the genus Toad of the family Toad, commonly known as the toad. In mainland China, it is distributed in Liaoning and other places. It generally lives in weeds and bushes near mountain rivers and likes to live under rocks. Its living altitude range is 200 to 700 meters. The type origin of this species is in North Korea.
During the day, it often hides in weeds and bushes, and often lives under rocks; at night, it often goes out to forage at 19-23 or on rainy days. It moves slowly and is good at crawling; it forages for insects and their larvae, earthworms and other small animals. It hibernates at the end of September every year and hibernates at the bottom of the water; it comes out of hibernation at the end of March to the beginning of April of the following year, and lays eggs in pairs. The eggs are arranged in a gelatinous egg band, and each female toad lays 700-960 eggs.
