Muli Toothed Toad is an amphibian of the genus Toothed Toad, with a brown body and a grayish-white belly. It is endemic to China and is distributed in Sichuan (Muli).
During the day, adult toads are mostly in and around gentle mountain streams with rich vegetation, generally living in the stream or under rocks or fallen trees by the stream; at night, they crawl along the stream and move slowly. The peak breeding season is in mid-to-late May, and some can be delayed to mid-June. Female toads lay about 200 eggs, which are attached to the bottom of the stone in a cluster or ring shape. Two female toads were dissected, and the diameter of the eggs to be laid in the oviduct was 2.6-2.8mm. Tadpoles live in slow-flowing places near large streams, at the bottom of the water, hiding under rocks or swimming in the cracks between rocks during the day.
Listed in the second level of the "List of National Key Protected Wildlife in China".
