The toad moves slowly and lays eggs on the bottom of the water stone or the roots of mosses or weeds at the edge of the water pond. There are as many as 5-6 egg groups under a stone. Two egg groups were measured, with a total of 1980 eggs. The eggs have developed to the neural tube stage in early June.
