The reporter learned from the Wuyishan National Park Management Bureau that scientific researchers recently discovered a new insect species - the "Chinese sticky bug" during a baseline survey of biological resources in Wuyishan National Park. At present, relevant scientific research results have been published in the international academic journal "Acta Asia-Pacific Entomology".

Chen Zhuo, one of the discoverers of the new species and a doctoral candidate in the Department of Entomology of China Agricultural University, said that the bugs are a special predatory group in the insect family. Because they have a special habit of collecting and using exogenous plant resin to capture prey, Also known as resin bug. The Tribeidae are a rare group within the large family of Tribeidae.

Li Hu, a professor at the Department of Entomology at China Agricultural University, told reporters that the "Chinese bug bug" discovered this time belongs to the genus Bug, and it is the first time a species of this genus has been recorded in my country. The discovery of "Chinese sticky bug" not only enriches the geographical distribution and species diversity of insects in Wuyi Mountain, but is also of great significance to the study of insect flora distribution and evolutionary history in the Oriental region.

In order to further understand the background of biological resources and test the effectiveness of protection and management, Wuyishan National Park launched a baseline survey of amphibians and reptiles in April 2020 and a three-year baseline survey of biological resources in April 2021. So far, the baseline survey of biological resources in Wuyishan National Park (including amphibian and reptile surveys) has discovered 12 new species, involving higher plants, insects, large fungi and other groups.
