Hong Kong torrent frog is endemic to China. The ecological environment quality of the frog's habitat has declined, and its population is very small. The skin on the back has many small warts, especially on the front and sides of the body; the skin on the abdomen is smooth.
The frog lives in the rapids of mountain streams at an altitude of 150-300mm. It often lives on the rocks near small waterfalls or on the stone walls in waterfalls, allowing the water to splash and impact. 12 and 60 eggs of the frog have been found attached to the cliffs in the waterfall. The female (body length 45 mm) on August 31, the diameter of the egg in the ovary is about 2.0 mm; the oviduct is well developed, it is estimated that this period is the breeding season. The tadpoles use the suction cups on their abdomens to attach to the stone; a tadpole in metamorphosis still has its suction cups on its abdomen.
Listed in the second level of the "List of National Key Protected Wildlife in China".
