Some complex behaviors in biological evolution are difficult to observe in fossil evidence. Parental care (referring to the protection and feeding of offspring by parents) is an important adaptive behavior in the evolution of higher life, and it is also the key to the social nature of arthrop
Chinese and American researchers said on the 12th that two fossils discovered in northern China showed that early mammals had learned to climb trees and dig holes in the ground during the Jurassic Period, which was dominated by dinosaurs about 160 million years ago. , showing diverse ecologic

As the earliest vertebrate with active flight capabilities, the macroevolution of pterosaurs has received widespread attention in the academic community. The evolutionary history of pterosaurs can be roughly divided into two stages, namely a 115 million year period of prosperity and a 65 mill
Look at this strange animal, it looks like a scoop. Do you know what kind of animal it is? Let me tell you! It is the famous horseshoe crab! The horseshoe crab is an animal that once lived in the same era as the dinosaurs. However, the huge dinosaurs did not escape the catastrophe at the end of the C
Between 430 and 345 million years ago, intense orogeny occurred in the earth's crust. The sea surface shrank, land appeared widely, and the climate became dry and hot. Cretaceous marine biomes During the ebb and flow of sea water, some algae slowly adapt to life
The end of the Cretaceous period witnessed one of the most dramatic mass extinctions in Earth's history. Find out what caused the extinction of dinosaurs and many other animals. The fossil record shows that during the first 175 million years of their existence, dinosaurs took on a variety of
Dinosaurs were a group of reptiles that dominated land for more than 140 million years (more than 160 million years in some parts of the world). They evolved in different shapes and sizes, from the terrifying giant Spinosaurus to the chicken-sized Microraptor, and were able to survive in a va
Today, people are no longer unfamiliar with the evolution from apes to humans. Curious humans still want to know when, where and what kind of animals the apes that became humans evolved. of. This is one of the hottest research topics in paleontology today, that is, the origin of higher primat
The history of carnivores can be traced back to protozoa hundreds of millions of years ago, when amoebas ate other single-celled organisms. Throughout the entire history of life, carnivores have continued to introduce new species along with the evolution of the entire biological world. At any
The earliest true beasts were insectivores (order) that appeared in the Cretaceous. After entering the Cenozoic Era, the eutherians differentiated from this basis and evolved at a very fast speed, resulting in a wide range of adaptive radiation. The first change in the history of Cenozoic mam
The only order in the subclass Metatheria is the Marsupial order. It has experienced great development since it originated from the ancestors of ancient mammals in the Cretaceous period. It is widely distributed around the world and competes with each other in a more or less equal position wi
We already know that the tragic mass extinction of the dinosaurs marked the end of the Mesozoic Era. In fact, it was not just the dinosaurs that became extinct. Those aquatic reptiles that were once widely distributed in the ocean-Ichthyosaur, plesiosaur, mosasaurus, etc., as well as flying r
