The Golden Buddha's Pseudohylid Salamander lives in high mountainous areas with an altitude of 1980-2150m, where vegetation is lush. During the day, adults hide in the grass by the stream and move in the water at night. During the non-breeding season, adults stay away from water and live in a moist environment with dense shrubs and weeds on the ground. In May and August-September 1956, 181 larvae were found living in a small stream pond formed by spring water. The pond was 5m wide and 7m long, with clear water and shrimps at the bottom. The temperature on May 26 was 14-19℃, and the water temperature in the stream was 11-12℃.
Endemic to China. At present, this salamander is only found in Jinfo Mountain, Nanchuan, Chongqing, and the population is very small.
Listed in the second level of the "List of National Key Protected Wildlife in China".
