Feature
The dorsal surface of the body and tail is dark brown, with only the fingers, toes, anus and lower edge of the tail being orange-red; the ventral surface of the body is dark gray.
Details
The fine-spotted newt is an amphibian of the family Salamandridae and genus Salamandridae. It lives in and around the mountains at an altitude of 1320-1400m. Adult newts live on land. During the non-breeding season, they live in moist rotten leaves near still ponds or in earthen holes under tree roots, preying on small animals such as insects, earthworms, and slugs.
It is listed in the second level of the "List of National Key Protected Wildlife in China".
Location
In China, it is distributed in Guangxi (Jinxiu, Longsheng, Huanjiang, Xincheng, Yulin, Darongshan, Napo, Mashan, Rongshui, Hezhou suburbs, Fuchuan, Luocheng, Bama), Guangdong (Xinyi), Guizhou (Libo). Abroad, it is distributed in northern Vietnam.
It lives in and around the mountains at an altitude of 1320-1400m.
Form
The head is flat, the tip of the snout is cut, and the nostrils are close to the tip of the snout; the skin is rough, covered with scrofula and warts, the ridges on the side of the head are very obvious, and the boundaries between the scrofula are obvious; the neck folds are obvious, and there are fine horizontal lines on the chest and abdomen. . The back of the body and tail is dark brown, only the fingers, toes, anus and the lower edge of the tail are orange-red; the ventral surface of the body is dark gray.
