Tibet is home to a variety of rare animals and birds, and is the birthplace of some unique and precious animals in my country and the world. According to statistics, there are 118 species of mammals, 473 species of birds, 49 species of reptiles, 44 species of amphibians, 61 species of fish, and more than 2,300 species of insects in Tibet. Tibet's terrestrial vertebrates belong to the Palearctic and Oriental realms in the world's fauna.

Due to different geographical environments and living habits, the distribution of Tibetan mammals is also quite different. The mammals living in the tropical and subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forests on the southern slope of the Himalayas include long-tailed leaf monkeys, bear monkeys, macaques, muntjacs, tufted deer, red impalas, bison, leopards, clouded leopards, black bears, wild cats, weasels, civets and other warm-loving animals. In the temperate coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests and coniferous forests, the number of animals that like warmth is decreasing, and they are gradually replaced by some cool and cold-resistant animals, such as red pandas, red deer, musk deer and white-lipped deer. Red deer and musk deer can grow antlers and musk, and are precious medicinal animals. White-lipped deer is a unique animal in my country and is classified as a first-class protected wild animal in the country. At the forest line above 4,000 meters, common large animals include Tahr sheep. Near the permanent snow line, snow leopards, known as the "king of the mountains", often appear on the snow. There is also a large even-toed ungulate animal, the blue sheep, which has a high ability to climb mountains and cross ridges. They often appear in groups of dozens or even dozens of them on steep cliffs and near glaciers, and can even climb to an altitude of more than 6,600 meters. On the northern Tibetan Plateau, common large animals include wild yaks, Tibetan antelopes, Tibetan wild donkeys, blue sheep, and argali. They often travel in groups of dozens, and sometimes more than a hundred, and usually move in groups. In addition to wolves and lynxes, there are also Tibetan leopards, Tibetan brown bears, snow leopards, etc. on the plateau. Many of the animals in Tibet are rare ornamental animals, precious fur animals, and medicinal animals.
