Why is it not recommended to raise Anbu turtles?

2023-07-01 15:33:20 166

Breeding Ambu turtles (also known as amphibious turtles or red-eared turtles) is not recommended for the following reasons:

1. The Anbu turtle is an alien species: The Anbu turtle is not native to China and is classified as an invasive species in some areas. They may have negative impacts on local ecosystems, such as competing for food resources, spreading diseases, and destroying habitats.

2. Longevity and requiring special feeding conditions: Anbu turtles can live for more than 20 years, or even 40 years. They need to be provided with suitable habitat, warm water and sunlight, as well as a rich and varied diet. This requires a significant investment of time, energy and money to meet their needs.

3. Health issues and human health risks: Ambu turtles often carry pathogens such as salmonella, which may pose risks to human health. Additionally, they may carry parasites and other pathogens.

4. Legal restrictions: There may be legal restrictions in some areas that prohibit private breeding and trafficking of Anbu turtles to protect the local ecological environment and species diversity.

For these reasons, breeding Ambu turtles is not recommended. If you are interested in raising a pet, it is recommended to choose a local legal pet breed and follow relevant laws, regulations and maintenance guidelines.
