The museum was established in 1987 and is located at No. 88 Yingbin Avenue, Da'an District, Zigong City. It covers an area of 50,000 square meters and has a construction area of 18,000 square meters. The Zigong Dinosaur Museum has the world's most complete, richest and largest collection of dinosaur fossils, including Chinese salamanders, hippo leopards, ankylosaurs, stegosaurus, Heilongjiangosaurus, etc., as well as some marine mammals and ancient bird fossils.
