Border Collie

The Border Collie is a well-proportioned medium-sized dog with a sturdy appearance, a solid body, well-developed muscles, and a smooth outline, giving the impression of effortless movement and endless endurance. This feature makes it the world's number one sheepdog.

The Border Collie comes in many colors, with various styles and markings. The most common color is black with (or without) white tendons, white collar, white socks, white tail tip, with (or without) tan markings. All different colors are allowed, with the exception of all white. Single colors, two colors, three colors and traditional colors should be treated equally in competition.

It is native to Northumberland near the border of Scotland and England.

Border Collies are closely related to the dignified sheepdogs and have a simple appearance; and they are the working dogs with the highest labor scores among the dogs participating in the show. It is still the only sheepdog engaged in labor work on the ranch.

The Border Collie has a smooth, agile and effortless gait. It is a smart, alert and sensitive breed. It is very friendly to friends and obviously reserved to strangers, so it is a very good guard dog.

The Border Collie has a strong herding instinct, is naturally intelligent, is good at observing words and expressions, can clearly understand the owner's instructions, and can drive the flock to move or rotate by looking at it. It is a good shepherd dog. It is energetic, alert and enthusiastic, smart and brave, has a strong learning ability, high comprehension, good obedience, easy to train, gentle and loyal. Its loyalty can be described as following you everywhere. It is a workaholic type of dog and is not suitable for urban life.
