Lesserbrownhorseshoebat Life habits and morphological characteristics

Small to medium size. The length of the forearm is 42.9±0.92mm, and the total length of the skull is about 18.3mm. Parietal lobe concave or lateral margin parallel, apical extension, cuneate; The connective leaves are protruding, obtuse at the front end, with a few pointed hairs. The back hair is brown, the belly hair is light. The alar membrane is dark brown with no hairless attachment.

Lesserbrownhorseshoebat Distribution range and habitat

A new record of the distribution was reported in China in 2005, and Alice C. Hughes et al. 's ecological monitoring survey in Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden in Yunnan Province captured the record (see photo), which was the northernmost of this kind of natural distribution. Abroad, it is mainly distributed in Selangor (the origin of type specimens) in the Malay Peninsula, as well as in central and southern Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam.

The new distribution record of this species was reported in China in 2005. Alice C. Hughes et al. recorded its capture in the ecological monitoring survey of Xishuangbanna Botanical Garden in Yunnan Province (see photo), which is the northernmost distribution of this species. This species is very similar to the Rhinolophus malayanus in size, leaf shape, color, etc., but there are some differences in skull shape: the rhinolophus Malayanus nasal prominences are below the height of the cranium in the horizontal plane, while the Rhinolophus Malayanus nasal prominences are almost parallel to the height of the cranium.
