Fanjingshan Siphonophorus is similar to white-ventral and yellow-thorax siphonophorus, but there are some differences in body length, abdominal hair color, upper incisor and total cranial length. He et al. (2015). The body size of the samples collected from Hunan Province was small. The body length, tail length and cranial length of the samples were smaller than those of the white-vented and yellow-thorax bats from the type origin, but the thorax and abdomen of the yellow-thorax bats were brownish yellow (Kuo et al., 2009).
This species is a new species published by (He et al., 2015), and the model origin is Fanjing Mountain, Guizhou, China. Huang Taifu et al. (2018) reported a new record in Hunan, which is also the first discovery of this species outside the model's origin.
