The Mesohoofed bat is a member of the genus Hoofed Bat of the family Hoofed Bat. There are five subspecies of the horseshoe bat in the world, but the exact number of subspecies distributed in China has been debated.
Mesohooves live in colonies in various caves, It is associated with great hoofed bats (<Hipposideros armiger), Myotis (< myotis), Rhinolophus (< rhinolophus), black bearded grave bats (<Taphozous melanopogon), and brown fruit bats (<Rousettus) leschenaultii>) is equivalent to a hole. Forage in forests or residential areas in the evening. It has been seen hanging from a tree or resting on the ceiling of a house. Medium-hoofed bats are beneficial to forests because they prey on a variety of forest pests.
Midhoof bats are constant frequency bats, the main frequency is 79-88kHz, and the echolocation calls of different geographical populations are very different. Cave dwelling, can gather large groups, distributed at low altitudes, insectivorous. Usually at the end of May to early June each year, breeding once a year, 1 litter.
In June 2008, a juvenile of Hipposideros larvatus, a female albino bat, was found in Lenshuitang village, a suburb of Guilin, Guangxi. The albino was localized, including a small area on the right side of the midline of the back, the margin of the caudal membrane and the right foot. The calf had a forearm length of 49.1mm and a weight of 10.8g.
