Located in the lower reaches of the Lampang River in Simao County, Yunnan, there is a natural stone pond in the middle of the river. It is a gray-blue boulder extending from the north bank of the river, forming a round pond surrounded by stone ridges. The river flows here, passes through the stone trough, and quickly plunges into the stone pool, setting off a pile of white waves. The water in the pool turns rapidly, and a stream of white foam gushes out from the gap, which is very spectacular.
Every year in the fifth month of the lunar calendar, the fish in the pond rush to jump on the ridge. Some hit the stone wall, and some jump into the water column. They rise and fall one after another, which is very beautiful. But no fish has ever been able to leap onto the rocky ledge.
