Butterflies are the most beautiful creatures not only in the insect world, but also in the animal world. They have slender bodies and large, broad wings. The most attractive thing is that they have ever-changing, colorful patterns and colors. In the spring, when flowers bloom, under the bright sunshine, when butterflies flutter lightly among the flowers, people admire and intoxicate. As early as the Tang Dynasty, there was a poem that said, "Zhuang Sheng dreamed of butterflies in the morning, and King Wang's spring heart was entrusted to cuckoos." The Song Dynasty's "Sunny Spring Butterfly Playing Picture" is still preserved in the Palace Museum in my country.

The Butterfly Spring in the west of Dali, Yunnan, my country is famous both at home and abroad. Every year in April of the lunar calendar, when the camphor trees bloom, thousands of butterflies of various kinds fly to the spring to participate in the annual "gathering". Some hover in the air, dance close to the spring, some hang straight down on the spring surface, and some are covered with soft branches, forming a colorful and spectacular "butterfly chain" and "butterfly tree". Taiwan's Butterfly Valley is also world-famous.

There are about 17,800 known species of butterflies in the world, and about 1,300 known species in my country. my country's butterfly resources are very rich, from snow-capped mountains to densely forested primeval forests, from desert plateaus to mountain plains, you can see colorful butterflies flying. In addition to having high ornamental value, China's butterflies also have species that are considered rare in the world.

my country's Golden Swallowtail is regarded as one of the most precious butterflies in the world. The two-tailed brown swallowtail was once praised by Japan as the "dream butterfly". my country's silk butterflies strongly attract the interest of butterfly researchers from various countries. The Chinese tiger swallowtail is still regarded as a treasure by European and American countries. The great purple admiral and the black great purple admiral are praised by Japan as the "national butterfly".

Due to unfair trade, many rare butterfly species have become extinct or endangered. In order to protect endangered butterflies, the International Union for Nature and Natural Resources formulated the "World Endangered Swallowtail" Red List in 1985. In 1990, my country announced the "Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora". In addition, according to my country's national conditions, dozens of threatened butterfly species have been listed.
