The Lhasa Apso has a history of 2,000 years. Before the 20th century, this breed was rarely seen outside of its native Tibet. There are many temples and lamas in Tibet. The original purpose of the Lhasa Apso was to serve as a companion and guard dog for the monks in these temples. The monks also regarded the dog as a sacred object, believing that after the owner's death, the soul would be attached to the dog's body, which would bring good luck to the owner. So it was unlikely to buy this breed at that time, but in history, lamas also used Lhasa Apso as a gift to pay tribute to the court and neighboring countries, and to make friends with dignitaries. Because of its gorgeous appearance, it has been widely spread all over the world.
