Beetles are the collective name for Coleoptera insects, many of which are large, colorful, strong and beautiful. Their survival behavior and habits are different and unique. Therefore, they are favored by people and are unique among many insects. People often keep them as pets or make them into specimens or handicrafts to appreciate.

The beetle's forewings are cutinized into elytra. When resting, the elytra are placed on the back of the thorax and abdomen, covering the hind wings. The body is hard and the armor-like body wall protects the insect body so that it can resist various harms in nature. Their exquisite body structure and wide adaptability help them successfully occupy various habitats on land, in the air and in the water, making them the largest order in the Insecta class and the order with the most species in the animal kingdom. There are 350,000 known species of Coleoptera, accounting for more than 40% of the Insecta species, and are widely distributed around the world. About 10,000 species have been recorded in my country. Some of these species are important pests and beneficial insects in agriculture, forestry, fruit trees and horticulture, or have become worldwide pests in various types of warehouses and human homes due to commercial transportation and other reasons.

Beetles are holometabolous insects, with round or spherical eggs; the larvae are generally long and narrow in shape, with a well-developed head, relatively hard, chewing mouthparts, and can be divided into carnivorous, herbivorous, and borer types; the pupa is a detached pupa. Pupate in a hidden place or cocoon; most adults have phototaxis, and almost all species have suspended animation, that is, when they are disturbed, they do not fly away or crawl away immediately, but retract their antennae and legs and fall to the ground. , and crawled away after a while. They use this method to evade attacks by birds and other predators.
