Sasakia charonda Hewitson
Wingspan 93-120mm. The male wings are purple from the base to the middle with white spots, and the rest of the wings are dark brown with yellow spots; the female wings are all dark brown, with the innermost stripes white (some individuals are yellow), forming an oval shape when the wings are spread, and the outer stripes All yellow. There are two connected red spots on the hip angle of the male hind wing.
This species is very attractive with its beautiful colors. It was selected as the national butterfly in Japan.
Distributed in Shaanxi, Henan, Hubei, Zhejiang, and Taiwan. Distributed abroad in Japan.
