The Gansu Provincial Forestry and Grassland Bureau organized a province-wide survey of wetland birds and habitats in Gansu Province and a simultaneous survey of wintering whooper swans. A few days ago, the Baishuijiang survey team went to Zhoujiaba Village, Shangde Town, Wenxian County to conduct an investigation. The leader of the survey team, Teng Jirong, found through a telescope that there are more than ten species of mallards, green-winged ducks, mandarin ducks, egrets, herons, and black water chickens distributed in the area. Plant waterfowl. From the telescope, I saw a large number of water birds taking off rapidly and rushing into the reed marsh. Survey team member Wang Junliang quickly turned the camera and quickly adjusted the camera parameters. He found a large raptor swooping in the air, chasing the mallard that had just taken off. With the "click-click" shutter sound, the SLR camera captured a precious picture of the raptor. Later, Professor Zhang Lixun of Lanzhou University identified the raptor as a national first-class rare protected animal - the white-tailed sea eagle.

This is the first time that a white-tailed sea eagle has been recorded in the Baishui River Basin. “This is the first time I have photographed this bird (white-tailed sea eagle). Because it quickly rushed towards the mallard that had just taken off, I quickly adjusted the camera parameters. , try your best to capture its images. In recent years, more and more birds can be photographed in the Baishui River Basin, and sometimes more than 15 species of waterbirds can be photographed in a day," said photographer Wang Junliang.
