The yellow-margined turtle is a tortoise that lives in South Asia, also known as the yellow-cheeked turtle. According to the "Wildlife Protection Law of the People's Republic of China", the yellow-margined turtle is a national second-level protected animal and is legally protected by the Chinese government. In addition, internationally, the yellow-margined turtle is also listed in Appendix II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which is an internationally protected species.
The number of yellow-margined turtles is declining year by year, mainly threatened by human activities, such as buying and selling, catching and illegal trading. Therefore, we should respect wild animals, refrain from illegal hunting or trade, and actively participate in actions to protect yellow-margined turtles and their living environment to ensure that they can survive and reproduce safely in the natural environment.
